Kaali Mut : The Dark Mother

Kaali, the goddess of death, time and doomsday. She also embodies "Shakthi"- feminine energy, destruction and fertility. The Spirit who took avatar from warrior goddess "Durga". When the buffalo demon "Mahishasura" attack the goddess Durga, Durga became so enraged that her anger burst from her forehead in the form of Kaali. The Black goddess went wild and ate all the demons came across and wore a garland of human heads. Her uncompromising rage spread across the horizon until the Mahadev step in and laid down in her path, and when the goddess realised who she was standing on, she finally calmed down. She realised that actions which come out in our rage could hurt someone we love.

Lord Shiva is the supreme God among five important deities of Hindu religion. He is therefore also termed as 'Mahadev'. People address him by hundreds of names and 'Neelkanth' is one of them. Lord Shiva then came to rescue and swallowed the poison and held it in his throat. Lord Shiva therefore became 'Neelkanth'.
